My Profile - About me

I am born in Kakinada a coastal town in Andhra Pradesh, India, but since the age of 2 yrs am living in Hyderabad.

My schooling took place in Little Flower Higher Secondary School Abids Hyderabad. I continued in the same school till 12th class. Life in School was normal and I was an average student passing all classes with a pass mark. Though I was interested in sports I did not get enough opportunities or facilities for play. Used to spend time with friends from the neighborhood playing galli cricket, marbles, flying kites etc.

From 9th class onwards there was a sudden change in academic performance and I started getting rank which till the end of 8th class I did not get. Physics was the subject I was interested in and which fascinated me.

After passing higher secondary where I was awarded the National merit scholarship, I appeared in the Entrance Exam for medical school where I was selected but denied admission because I was found to be under aged by 15 days at the time of writing the exam. Finally after lot of representations the authorities allowed me to join medical college and I joined Sri Venkateshwara Medical college Tirupathi a full four months later than my colleagues and had to undergo a lot of stress before passing the first year in MBBS.

In the second year during the medical college around(aug –sep 1972) I was struck with a very debilitating disease called Menier’s syndrome which used to cause very severe vertigo(reeling sensation), and throw me on the ground, causing vomiting and followed by nausea for a day. The attacks used to come while sleeping, and while attending classes .During the course of the treatment I was given a drug called Stemetil which caused a very severe reaction and I was down with severe muscle spasms which lasted 2 days. It was like a person suffering from severe tetanus with no respite. The memory is quiet fresh as I am recounting now. I slowly recovered from the above acute episode but buzzing noises in both ears which is a feature of Menier’s syndrome continued for two years and subsequently subsided gradually over the years.

During the two years I suffered from continuous headache which used to be present throughout the day and was not there during sleep but when I woke up the head ache used to be present. Previously I used to be tough physically and had lot of confidence in my body but the above illness shattered me and my only longing and desire for those two years was to be able to walk normally like any normal person without headache, without the attack of reeling and without the buzzing noises in the ears.

I seriously contemplated giving up my medical studies and I told my mother about it and she said if you cannot study don’t worry you can discontinue them. I was scared to put in any physical and mental effort for fear of provoking a spell of vertigo, vomiting and fall. The continuous buzzing in the ears reminded me about the active nature of the disease.

I developed a strategy to cope with the problem. My friends were Subba rao, Swaroop, Kesava reddy and Subramanya sarma. I used to discuss often with Subramanya sarma who was the brightest of them all and used to listen to them rather than put an effort in studying. I used to go through the question papers for the last few years and make a list of 20 questions and take the notes of Subramanya sarma and prepare only those questions and then go to sleep. Invariably about 2 or 3 questions used to come and I would answer them very well and remaining 50 % of the questions I used to answer using my general knowledge. Using this strategy I passed all exams successfully and even came University first in my final in the Surgery Examination.

By the end of 1972 the buzzing noises in the year started reducing in frequency and headache also subsided around that time and I turned philosophical and read few works of swami Vivekananda and attended a few lectures of swami Chinmayananda in Tirupathi and felt attracted towards a spiritual life. I came to know about Rev Master Sri Ramchandraji Maharajof Shahjahanpur through brother vijaya kumar. I was introduced into the System By late Sri Kuppuswamy garu on 20th Jan 1975 and since that time my life was never the same again.

I later joined All India Institute of Medical Sciences as junior resident in surgery and a year later joined the Armed forces as a medical officer in the year 1978. I finished my post graduation from armed forces medical collage Pune in the year 1983 and later served as specialist in Surgery till 1990.

Then I took premature release from the army because of my son’s illness and his dyslexia and am settled in Hyderabad since then I am working in Medicity hospitals for the last 10 years as surgical gastroenterologist and laparoscopic surgeon.

I am also working in the evening hours in Mahatma SriRamchandra centenary memorial Hospital. I am also the president of Sahaj Sewa Samstan since its inception.
